Piotr Krzymowski, I Believe I Can Imagine a Colour I Have Never Seen Before, 2010. Film still.

Piotr Krzymowski, Color, CICA Museum, South Korea 3 November – 19 November 2017

Piotr Krzymowski’s I Believe I Can Imagine a Colour I Have Never Seen Before (2010) film will feature in the Colour exhibition at CICA Museum in South Korea. The exhibtion will run from November 3 to November 19, 2017.

The starting point of the series of works were remnants of 16mm films discarded by Krzymowski’s fellow-artists. Krzymowski gathered the rejected scraps of negative film, often overexposed, underexposed or simply abandoned as unwanted scenes and transformed them by submerging in boiling water in his kitchen at home. The unexpected results of this rather scientific experiment with water turned out to be a perfect illustration to Krzymowski’s research on the impossible idea of inventing a new colour.
