Born in Rostock, Germany, 1982.
Currently lives and works in Berlin.
The work of Marie Jeschke oscillates between multiple positions, viewpoints and mediums. Different works often permeate through one another, forming a structure that is ever-expanding and without roots.
Voyeurism, exhibitionism, identity-formation, the disengagement of youth, and contemporary relics and icons are continuing themes she engages with in her practice.
Previously a performance artist, Jeschke stopped using her body as a material in order to focus instead on the performativity of objects and their inherent potential to be re-formed and re-contextualised in the present moment.
